Durden History Grove Dedication
Join the Museum of Durham History in dedicating the newest History Grove for Dr. Robert Durden at Wrightwood Park on Tuesday, September 28th at 3:00pm. Family, former students, and MoDH Executive Director Patrick Mucklow are expected to make remarks.
Robert Durden, who taught history classes at Duke University for 49 years, passed away on March 4th, 2021, at 90 years old. Dr. Durden wrote many books, his most famous being The Dukes of Durham, a history of Washington Duke and his two sons, Benjamin Newton Duke and James Buchanan Duke.
