Posted on September 24, 2021The U.S. census reported Durham’s population to be 42.5% White, 41.0% Black, 0.5% American Indian and Alaska Native, 5.1% Asian, and 14.2% Hispanic or Latino of any race, making Durham the only city in the Triangle Region with no ethnic majority. The 2010 U.S. census reported Raleigh’s population to be 57.5% White, 29.3% Black, 0.5% American Indian and Alaska Native, 4.3% Asian, and 11.4% Hispanic or Latino of any race and Chapel Hill’s population to be 72.8% White, 9.7% Black, 0.3% American Indian and Alaska Native, 11.9% Asian, and 6.4% Hispanic or Latino of any race.
