Partners in the Community

This holiday season, the Museum wants to highlight some events in our community, hosted by a few of our history-focused and local partner organizations. Make sure to get out and support our friends…

  • November Third Friday in the Visitor Info Center – Storytelling with Indigenous Memories
    • Take part in this month’s Third Friday, November 15, from 6-8 PM at the Visitor Info Center for Storytelling with Indigenous Memories featuring Beverly Scarlett. Enjoy sweet treats and hear powerful stories of Free People of Color within Indigenous nations, followed by a beautiful tribute with song and dance honoring Indigenous lands. The first 10 guests will even receive a free “Do It In Durham” T-shirt.

  • Pauli Murray Birthday Celebration at the Pauli Murray Center
    •  Let’s celebrate the late Pauli Murray’s birthday in style on Saturday, November 16, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the Pauli Murray Center! Drop in for free to explore the new exhibit and enjoy a custom Pauli Murray cupcake. This is a fantastic opportunity to honor the legacy of one of Durham’s most inspiring voices—don’t miss it!

    • Come celebrate Preservation Durham’s 50th anniversary on Tuesday, November 19, from 6-8 PM at The Fruit!
