As an introduction to the oral histories that have recently been uploaded to our YouTube channel, the Museum of Durham History produced a video that combines highlights from those oral histories into common themes and topics.

Great work by Marc Maximov for weaving these stories together. This video discusses Durham’s food culture relating to 3 distinct themes: mid-20th century dining locales, eating out in the time of segregation, and 21st century international flavors that have found a home here.
