MoDH Talks Around Town
Posted on March 29, 2023The Museum of Durham History fulfills a number of community requests on a regular basis. In addition to hosting and visiting numerous school groups, community organizations and public & private entities who seek in-person guided tours, we also look forward to offsite talks all over Durham. To celebrate Women’s History Month in March, Executive Director Patrick Mucklow gave a talk at the Durham Center for Senior Life based on our Women in Durham Politics exhibit.
Also, Kokou Nayo, who coordinates the Durham City/County Immigrant & Refugee Affairs and leads the Refugee Leadership program, introduced Patrick to its members for a presentation on Durham history. The Refugee Leadership program provides immigrant and refugee participants the opportunity to meet with Durham department leaders and tour Durham facilities to gain a better understanding of how their government works and how learn how to resolve issues and obtain information. We welcome these outreach opportunities, as these moments are inspirational and validating for the work we do.
