MoDH in the Community

It’s been an exciting week for the Museum of Durham History! We were thrilled to participate in two fantastic events that celebrate the rich history and culture of our city with Preservation Durham and Research Triangle Park.
-On November 19th, we joined Preservation Durham in celebrating their 50th anniversary! Our museum booth was a hit, with many visitors stopping by to chat with us about our exhibits, programs, and mission. We were proud to work alongside other historic groups and sites in supporting Preservation Durham’s incredible work!
-Next, we headed to the RTP 180 Speaker Series on November 21st, where we set up an activity in the lobby. We shared our exhibit, B is for Brick, which explored Durham’s early brick manufacturing industry and how the city’s geographic location influenced its architecture, being atop a large red clay deposit. The theme of the event was “The History Behind It,” and we were delighted to contribute to the conversation alongside other wonderful organizations in the Triangle.
We’re so grateful for these opportunities to connect with our community and share Durham’s fascinating stories. Thank you so much to Preservation Durham and RTP for having us!
