Giving Thanks for Brad Larson
Posted on November 21, 2023This holiday weekend, the Museum of Durham History will be giving thanks to having known and collaborated with a special person we tragically lost earlier this month, Story Habitat founder Brad Larson.
If you have ever recorded a video on the Story Kiosk at an event, sat down to interview a loved one for an oral history in the Museum’s Story Room, or submitted a video through our website in the last several years, you have connected with the imagination and technological wizardry that was distinctly Brad’s.
He was a thoughtful, inquisitive storyteller who took great care to help museum professionals and amateur oral historians ask sincere questions to put folks at ease, and encourage them to open up and share.
Brad was always generous with his time and expertise, constantly working and improving his tech interfaces and user experience. Whenever people would marvel at the Story Kiosk concept, we were always excited to promote Brad’s vision and our pride to be associated with him.
The museum world lost a gentle friend, and we join our colleagues across the country in sharing our gratitude for his life and many contributions.
