Welcome to the Museum of Durham History website, the virtual ground floor for a growing collection of information, images and personal accounts that bring Durham's dynamic past to life.

Durham has many great stories to tell. A brief chronology of Durham History is brought to life in Video Stories, which includes Personal Narratives and commentary by Tools of the Trade Pop-Up presenters.

The Museum will be a starting point for exploring the rich history of this diverse and creative community. After several years as an online entity, we'll open the doors of our first physical site in 2013. The new History Hub, located at 500 West Main Street, will allow expansion of the Museum's services and add to the vitality of downtown Durham. Hear from Museum leaders on what's planned.
