Sawyer Street

Sawyer Street was originally "Mason Street," its name changed some time after 1951, Mason was built prior to 1913 and remains in its original location, though shortened. Neither namesake is known.

Originally, Mason ran north from Linwood to Piedmont, then jogged slightly west and continued to Memphis Street in central Hayti. During urban renewal, it was built over north of Enterprise Street; its section between Piedmont and Memphis is now within the Rolling Hills subdivision site.
