Hunt Street

Hunt Street, possibly named for First Baptist Church designer Reuben Harris Hunt, first appears on the 1887 Branson's Directory map, extending two blocks between Mangum Street and Rigsbee Avenue.

By 1913 it had been extended to Roney Street and included the unaligned intersection with Foster that remained until Hunt was closed between Foster and Roney for the Durham Farmers' Market in 2007. The 1913 Sanborn Map identifies a continuation from Roney to Morris as "Corbett"; it was later renamed to become the westernmost block of Hunt Street.
