Corporation Street

Corporation Street marked the northern town limit when Durham was incorporated in 1869 as a one-mile square centered on the North Carolina Railroad depot. It appears on the 1891 Bird's-Eye View of Durham, N.C. map running through a sparsely developed area from Morris Street east to the Little Five Points intersection with Mangum and Cleveland streets.

At some time after 1967, Corporation's intersection with Morris Street was reconfigured and a stub of Lamond Avenue between Duke and Washington Streets extended to join Corporation. The Lamond stub was renamed Corporation at that time.
