Pearsontown Elementary School

Pearsontown Elementary School was built in 1954, but Durham County maps indicate a school for African American children at or near the site of its 25.5-acre campus prior to 1919. The present-day Pearsontown underwent remodeling and/or additions in 1958, 1964 and 1992. With a physical plant enclosing almost 101,000 square feet, the school has an official capacity for 836 students.
