Lincoln Hospital Site

During the segregation era, Lincoln Hospital was Durham's only hospital for African Americans. First opened in 1902 on Procter Street, the hospital later relocate to Fayetteville Street in 1924.
After merging with the white Watts Hospital to create the Durham Hospital Corp. in 1971, Lincoln became a community health clinic. The clinic still operates, but the hospital building was demolished in 1983.
