City of Medicine Academy
Located, as of fall 2011, on the Durham Regional Hospital campus, the City of Medicine Academy trains its students to pursue occupations in various phases of health care as well as following a standard high-school curriculum.
The academy opened in 2003 at Southern High School, and moved to the former General Telephone headquarters on North Roxboro Road, near Durham Regional, in 2008. A building of its own, on Crutchfield Street at the north side of Durham Regional’s grounds, was completed in 2011 to accommodate 400 students.
